Who are the Deut 6 Parents and Children?

Who are the fathers and parents?

In Deuteronomy 6 and Ephesians 6 God is specifically speaking to the men of the faith, the husbands and the fathers. He commands men to be the priests, prophets, providers and protectors of their families. However, God understands that not all families are the same. Therefore, by way of extension, fathers may include mothers, single mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and/or any person serving in a parental or care giver role. Each and every adult in the faith can play a role in teaching, training and discipling a young person. However, God is clear that this is the primary responsibility of the parent.

Who are the children?

Like the fathers, the children are the sons and the daughters in a family. However, they can also be the grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and/or any child in a Christian's life.
